Chapli kabab with tamarind sauce. Pakistani cuisine is rich with different kebabs. Meat including beef, chicken, lamb and fish is used in kababs. But most popular and famous kebab is chapli kababs. Serve with tasty tamarind and yogurt sauce.

Chapli kabab with Tamarind Sauce

Ingredients:

  1. Egg – 1
  2. Onions – 2
  3. Tomatoes – 2
  4. Mince – ½ kg
  5. Corn flour – ½ cup
  6. Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  7. Salt – 1 tsp or to taste
  8. Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  9. Pomegranate seeds – 1 tbsp
  10. Whole coriander – 1 tbsp
  11. Red chili powder – 2 tsp
  12. Oil – for frying

Method:

  • Mix mince with onions, tomatoes, corn flour, cumin, salt, ginger garlic paste, pomegranate seeds, whole coriander, egg and red chili powder together and form them into kebabs.
  • In a pan, heat oil and fry from both sides until golden brown.

For Tamarind and yogurt Sauce:

  1. Green chillies – 4
  2. Cloves of garlic – 4
  3. Yogurt – 1 cup
  4. Tamarind paste – ½ cup
  5. Coriander – ½ bunch
  6. Mint leaves – ½ bunch
  7. Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

Method:

  • For preparing sauce, in a blender, add green chillies, cloves of garlic, tamarind, coriander, mint,  cumin and blend them all together.
  • Mix the mixture with yogurt.
  • Lastly serve kebabs with onion slices, tomatoes and cucumber with spicy tamarind sauce.
