Bombay Bakery Coffee Cake Recipe

Bombay Bakery Coffee Cake Recipe, simple butter cake recipe, but it’s delicious and different in taste due to icing.


  1. Flour – 175gm /7 ounces
  2. Eggs – 4
  3. Vanilla essence – 1 ½ tsp
  4. Caster sugar – 1 cup
  5. Baking powder – 2 tsp
  6. Butter -200gm/ 8 ounces


  • In a bowl, put butter and sugar; beat with electric beater until it becomes cream.
  • Take another bowl and strain flour and baking powder.
  • Now add eggs one by one with 1 tbsp of dry mixture and beat well along with vanilla essence.
  • Now add remaining dry mixture, mix with spatula.
  • Transfer this mixture in 9” cake pans and bake in preheated oven at 180ºC, 350ºF and Gas Mark 4 for 40 minutes.
  • When it’s done, let it cool down completely.
  • Then fill with Icing and decorate with the same icing, serve yummy coffee cake and enjoy.

Icing for Cake Filling


  1. Coffee – 1 tbsp (dissolves in 1 tbsp water)
  2. Butter – 150gm /6 ounces
  3. Granulated sugar – ¾ cup /6 ounces
  4. Eggs – 3 beaten


  • Take a pan, add butter and sugar, and cook until butter melts.
  • Let it cool down, then add 3 eggs and cook on very low heat until sugar dissolves and you can see some bubbles around the pan, remove from the heat and let it cool down completely.
  • Mixture will be look like solid shortening.
  • Then beat with coffee mixture and apply on one layer of the cake, and then put the other layer of the cake on top it.
  • Decorate the cake with icing on all four sides.
