How to Make Chatpate Shami Kebab: English – Urdu Recipe

Chatpate Shami Kebab

Ingredients:

  1. Beef mince – 375gm
  2. Oil – 4 tbsp
  3. Garlic cloves – 3
  4. Roughly chopped ginger – 1 tbsp
  5. Bay leaves – 2
  6. Big cardamoms – 4
  7. Black peppers – 8
  8. Cloves – 7
  9. Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  10. Cinnamon sticks – 4
  11. Whole dry red chillies – 5
  12. Split gram lentil – 125gm
  13. Onion – 1 medium
  14. Green chillies – 3
  15. Salt – to taste
  16. Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
  17. Spring onion – 1
  18. Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  19. Fresh coriander – ½ bunches
  20. Eggs – 2
  21. Oil – for frying

Method:

  • Take a pan, heat up 4 tbsp oil, and then add garlic cloves, ginger slice, bay leaves, big cardamoms, black pepper, cloves, cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks and whole red chillies, fry for 2 seconds.
  • Then add mince and fry for 2 minutes, then add split gram lentil (chana daal), onion, salt and green chillies, fry well.
  • Then add garam masala powder and spring onion, mix well and fry until mince water dries. Then add 1 ½ cups of water and turmeric powder, cook until lentil (daal) is tender.
  • When water dries then remove bay leaves and put this cooked mixture in chopper and make smooth paste.
  • Then add chopped fresh coriander, mix well.
  • Then make round kebab, dip in lightly beaten egg and shallow fry both sides.
  • Serve with mint sauce and salad.
