How to Make Degi Karahi

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken – 1 ½ kg
  2. Ghee – 1 cup
  3. Onion – 2 medium
  4. Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
  5. Tomatoes – 1 kg
  6. Yogurt – 1 cup
  7. Red crushed chilli – 1 ½ tbsp
  8. Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
  9. Turmeric powder – 1 ½ tbsp
  10. Salt – to taste
  11. Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
  12. Fenugreek leaves – ¼ tsp
  13. Fried and ground cumin seeds – ¼ tsp
  14. Fried and ground coriander seeds – ¼ tsp
  15. Black pepper – ¼ tsp
  16. Green chillies, ginger flaks and fresh coriander – for garnishing
Chicken Green Karahi Recipe

Method:

  • In a wok add ghee, and fry chicken or mutton, until light brown.
  • Take it out from the ghee, then add thinly sliced onion and fry until golden brown, then add blended tomato and cook.
  • When tomato water dries out, add ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, red crushed chilli, black pepper, turmeric powder, salt, garam masala powder and fry well.
  • Then add blended yogurt and mix well.
  • Now add fried chicken along with ½ cup water.
  • Let it cook on medium heat until chicken is done.
  • Then add fried coriander, cumin seeds, fenugreek leaves, fresh coriander, green chilli and ginger flakes, cook for 3 more minutes, and serve with naan.How to Make Degi KarahiHow to Make Degi Karahi
