How to Make Khasta Naan Khatai

Nan Khatai is an eggless light and crispy cookie which is made from flour, sugar and ghee. Its perfect to serve with tea or coffee.


  1. Plain four – 3 cups
  2. Baking powder – 2 tsp
  3. Baking soda – ½ tsp
  4. Ground sugar – 150gm
  5. Green cardamom powder – 1 tsp
  6. Ghee – 175gm
  7. Pistachio – 2 tbsp
  8. Egg yolks – 1


Take a bowl, add sugar and ghee, and beat well like cream. Strain flour, baking powder, cardamom powder and  baking soda and add in cream mixture, make smooth dough with hands.
Divide the dough into equal parts and make them into balls. Press each ball between your palms lightly, drop ½ tsp egg yolks in the middle of cookies, then place pistachios. Bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees, gas mark 4 for about 12 to15 minutes. Really delicious and khasta Nan khatai are ready to serve with tea or coffee.
