How to Make Pattern for Sari Blouse Part 2, in English / Urdu

All blouses are made of the same fabric as that of the sari. In case of transparent fabric like net, chiffon a lining is required. The lining material can be muslin or organza.

All these blouses are custom made or tailored to fit. Ready made blouses are also available in the market but the design, colour, pattern should match the sari or some prefers to go for the contrast look like a plain sari with embroidered or printed blouse.

Sari Blouse Pattern
Back Part

1 – 2 = back length
2 – 3 = ½ inch folding allowance for back hem
1 – 4 = 1/6 bust + ¾ or 1 inch
4 – 5 = 2 inch upward
1 – 6 = shoulder width / 2 + ½ inch
7 – 6 = square down from 6
4 – 8 = ¼ bust + ½ inch
2 – 9 = waist / 4 + 1 inch (extra) 1 inch for draft
10 is mid of 2 – 9
10 – 11 = dart length i.e.5 inch
12 – 10 = ½ inch dart intake
13 – 10 = ½ inch dart intake
7 – 14 = 1 inch
6 – 15 = shoulder slop ¾ inch
(This is standard measurement, you can increase and decrease according to your size)
6 – 16 = 1/12 bust + ½ inch
17 – 16 = neck depth (depend on style)

Sleeve Pattern

0 – 1 = bust / 6 + 1inch

1 – 2 = 1/8th bust

Join 0 and 2, 4 is mid of 0 – 2

3a – 3 = ¾ inch

2 – 5 = full length of sleeve

5 – 6 = (1/3 bust – 1) / 2

FPRMULA = (1/3 bust +1 inch = shoulder to shoulder width
