How to Make Spicy and Tasty Shab Daig

Ingredients:

  1. Mutton – ½ kg
  2. Onion – 2
  3. Oil – ½ cup
  4. Salt – to taste
  5. Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
  6. Red chili powder – 1 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  8. Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  9. Yogurt – ½ cup
  10. Fried and crushed cumin seeds – 1tsp
  11. Ginger flakes – 2 tbsp
  12. Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
  13. Fresh coriander chopped – 2 tbsp
  14. Turnips – 2
  15. Carrot – 2

Method:

Prick carrots and turnips and fry in 2 tbsp of ghee, set aside. Take a pan, fry onion until golden brown, and take it out of onion. Now in same oil, add ginger garlic paste, fry for few sec, then add 1 tbsp of water, red chili, salt, turmeric powder and mutton, fry well. Now add coriander powder, cumin seeds and yogurt, fry well. Cover and cook until mutton is tender, fry well and add fried vegetables and cook well until vegetables are done. Then add fried crushed and meatballs (koftay), cook for 2 more minutes and add some water as you desire for gravy. Cover and cook on low heat until gravy becomes thick. Garnish with ginger flakes, fresh coriander and garam masala powder. Serve with naan or boil rice.

Ingredients for Kofta:

  1. Beef mince – 1/2 kg
  2. Whole green chillies – 2
  3. Onion – 1
  4. Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  5. Salt – 1 tsp
  6. Roasted chick peas  – 1 tbsp
  7. Fried crushed cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  8. Yogurt – 2 tbsp
  9. Fried crushed poppy seeds – 1 tsp
  10. Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
  11. Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
  12. Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp

Method:

Add mince, salt, onion, red chili, cumin seeds, roasted chickpea, poppy seeds, garam masala and ginger garlic paste in chopper and grind well. Then take it out in a bowl and add green chilies, fresh coriander and yogurt, mix well and make kofta shape. You can freeze them as well.
