|Masala Bharay Tinday (Gourds)
Tinday (Gourd) vegetable is a summer season vegetable. You might have tried it in a normal way or with mutton or so, but stuffed with masala it’s so yummy and gives you a different taste. Do try masala bharay tinday and let me know your opinion.
Ingredients:
- Tinday (gourds) – 357gm
- Raw mango – 2 small
- Soya sauce – 1 tbsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Cumin powder – 1 tsp
Method:
- Cut off tops of gourds and scoop out the pulp.
- Then mix all above ingredients in gourd pulp and fill into the hollow gourds, cover with tops and fix with tooth picks.
- Heat up oil in a pan and fry stuffed gourds just to give them colour.
- Then remove and from the oil and in same oil fry masala.
Ingredients for masala:
- Onion – 2
- Tomato – 2
- Green chilli – 2
- Fresh coriander – 2 tbsp
- Salt – ½ tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – ½ tsp
- Cumin powder – ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Method:
- In same oil, sauté onion, then add remaining filling, tomato, salt, red chilli, cumin powder, turmeric powder and green chilli, mix and cook well.
- Then place gourds one by one, cover with lid and cook on low flames.
- When gourds become tender, garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with chapattis.
