Shab Daig Recipe: Authentic Indian Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. Mutton chops – ½ kg
  2. Ghee – 1 cup
  3. Onion – 1 cup
  4. Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
  5. Salt – to taste
  6. Red chili powder – 1 tsp
  7. Degi mirch – 1 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  9. Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  10. Yogurt – ½ cup
  11. Sugar – 1tbsp
  12. All spice powder – 1 tsp
  13. Roasted cumin – 1 tsp
  14. Ginger chopped – 1tbsp
  15. Coriander chopped – ½ bunch
  16. Green chilies – 6-8
  17. Ginger flaks – 2 tbsp
  18. Turnips – ½ kg
  19. Carrot – ½ kg
  20. Flour – for pan seal

 

 

Method:

  • Prick vegetables and fry in 2 tbsp ghee then put ¼ cup water, cover and cook until tender.
  • Then take a pan, fry onion until golden brown, take it out onion and grind.
  • Now in oil add ginger garlic paste fry for 1 minute, then add yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili, coriander powder, degi mirch and salt, fry well.
  • Now add mutton, fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add ground onion, mix and add carrots, turnips, koftay and water, cook for 2 minutes.
  • Then add garam masala powder, cumin, sugar, 1 tbsp ginger flaks, green chili whole, fresh coriander, cover and seal with flour, cook for at least 1 hour. Garnish with fresh coriander and ginger flaks.
  • Serve with naan, boil rice or chapattis.

Ingredients for Kofta:

  1. Beef mince – 1/2 kg
  2. Onion – 1
  3. Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  4. Salt – to taste
  5. Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  6. Whole green chillies – 2
  7. Coriander leaves – 1/2 bunch
  8. Saffron garam masala – 1 tsp
  9. Roasted chick peas or gram flour – 2 tbsp
  10. Poppy seeds – 1 tbsp
  11. Eggs – 1

Chop mince twice then mix remaining ingredients and make kofta shape.
