Gulab Jamun without Khoya, yes we will make gulab jamun with milk powder. Normally this traditional sweet is made with khoya, but khoya is hard to find outside of Pakistan and India. For this recipe we need to make instant khoya with milk powder and then prepare gulab jamun halwai style at home.

Gulab Jamun Recipe with Milk Powder
Ingredients for sugar syrup:
- Sugar – 1 1/2 cup
- Water – 1 cup or until sugar soaked
- Green cardamoms – 2 to 3
- Lemon juice – 1 tsp
- Orange food colour – 1 pinch (optional)
Ingredients for Gulab Jamun without khoya
Keto Saffron Barfi
- Full cream milk – 1/4 cup
- Ghee – 1/2 tbsp
- Milk powder – 3/4 cup
- Soaked semolina – 4 tsp
- Green cardamom powder – 1 pinch
- Nutmeg powder – 1 pinch
- Baking soda – 1 pinch
- Plain flour – 2 tbsp
Method to prepare Sugar Syrup:
- Add sugar, water, green cardamoms, lemon juice and food colour in a pan and cook until sugar dissolves. set aside.
Method to Prepare Gulab Jamun:
- Heat up fresh milk in a pan and bring to a boil. Add ghee, milk powder and soaked semolina.
- Mix it then take off of the flame and your khoya is ready.
- Let it cool down completely.
- Then add cardamom powder, nutmeg, soda and mix well.
- Now add plain flour and mix with light hands.
- Divide it into equal sized balls and fry on a low heat in ghee until golden brown. Add in to the sugar syrup for 2/3 hours.
- Garnish with chopped nuts and serve.
