Keema Bharay Karelay Recipe
Keema karela Recipe: English – Urdu
Ingredients:
- Karelay (bitter gourds) – 6
- Cooked mince – 2 cups
- Ginger flakes – 3 tbsp
- Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
- Chopped onion – 1
- Chopped tomato – 3
- Green chilies – 5 to 6 sliced
- Oil – 1/4 cup + 7 tbsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder – 1 tsp

Method:
- Scrape and clean bitter gourd from inside and remove seeds, cut lengthwise.
- Apply salt properly outside and inside the bitter-gourd.
- Keep aside for ½ an hour. Then rinse and remove as much water as possible.
Keema Bhare Tamatar (Tomatoes Stuffed with Mince)
Method for Filling:
- Take a pan, heat up oil and saute onion then add the ginger garlic paste, fry until light golden.
- Then add mince and fry well. Then add chopped tomato, 2 tbsp ginger flakes, green chilies and salt, cover and let it cook on low heat until mince is tender.
- Now add garam masala powder and fry well until water dries. Take it off of the flame and let it cool down.
- Now stuff the bitter-gourds with this filling and tie each bitter-gourd with thread properly.
- Take a wok, heat up 7 to 8 tbsp of oil, add 1 tbsp ginger flakes and place stuffed karelay and fry on low heat for about 10 minutes.
- Then add 1/2 cup water, cover and let cook until karelay are tender.
- Serve with chopped fresh coriander.
