How to Make Batata Vada
Ingredients:
- Boiled and mashed potato – 1/2 kg
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Add chutney and bighar in mashed and boiled potatoes, mix well.
- Then make round shape, dip in batter and deep fry in oil until golden brown.
- Serve with dinner roll, pao or ketchup.
- This is one of famous Snack in India like ragda patties.
Ingredients for Chutney:
- Green chillies – 2
- Fresh coriander – 1 tbsp
- Ginger flaks – 1/2 tsp
- Thinly chopped garlic – 1/2 tsp
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Sugar – 1 tsp
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
Grind all ingredients and add in mashed potato, mix well.
Ingredients for bighar:
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Curry leaves – 12
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Fry all ingredients in oil until golden then add in mashed potato and mix well.
Batter for frying:
- Gram flour – 1 cup
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
- Baking powder – 1 pinch
- Mix all ingredients in gram flour, make thick batter.
- Dip batata vada in this batter and deep fry until golden brown.
