Spicy Chicken Tikka Kebab
Ingredients:
- Chicken leg and thigh pieces – ½ kg (de bones)
- Raw papaya paste – 2 tbsp
Cut chicken in small pieces, apply papaya paste on chicken piece and leave for 10 minutes.
For Marination:
- Onion – 2 small or 1 medium
- Garlic cloves – 5
- Ginger – 1 tbsp
- Green chillies – 5
- Ground cumin – ½ tbsp
- Lemon juice – 1 ½ tbsp
- Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
- Poppy seeds – 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
- Ground coriander – ½ tbsp
- Turmeric – 1 tsp
- Oil – for brushing
- Yogurt – 125g
- Salt – to taste
Method:
- Take a blender, add onion, garlic, ginger, green chillies and make paste with ½ cup of water.
- Pour this paste on chicken along with lemon juice, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, poppy seeds, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and yogurt, mix well and leave for approx half an hour.
- Thread chicken on to skewers and cook in pan for 2 minutes with little bit of oil, then pour all marination, cover and cook until chicken has done well and water dries.
- Serve with plain rice or pea’s pulao.
