Quick Shish Tawook Recipe
Shish tawook or shish taouk is a traditional Arabic and Turkish shish kebab. Cubes of chicken are skewered and grilled. Common marinades are based upon yogurt or a tomato puree. Shish taouk is typically eaten with garlic paste toum.
Quick Shish Tawook Recipe
Ingredients:
- Chicken boneless – 500 gm cut in cubes
- Yogurt – ¼ cup
- Oil – 4 tbsp
- Garlic paste – 2 tbsp
- Tomato paste – 1 tbsp
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
- Thyme ¼ – tsp
- Oregano – ¼ tsp
- Garam masala powder – ¼ tsp
- Cumin powder – ½ tsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Black pepper powder – ½ tsp
- Tomato – 1 cut in cubes
- Capsicum – 1 cut in cubes
- Onion – 1 cut in cubes
- Bamboo skewers or metal skewers 8- 10
Method:
- Take a bowl, add chicken cubes, yogurt, oil, garlic paste, lemon juice, thyme, oregano, garam masala, cumin powder, salt, black pepper powder, and tomato paste.
- Mix well and leave for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Then skew chicken cubes, onion, tomato, capsicum on bamboo skewer or metal skewers and grill them.
- Easy and Delicious Shish taouk is ready. Serve with naan or Toum sauce.
