How to Cook Mong Masoor Masalay Dar Daal Recipe in Urdu – English

Ingredients:

  1. Rice – 1 cup
  2. Moong ki daal – 1/4 cup
  3. Oil – 4 tbsp
  4. Onion – 1 (medium sized, sliced)
  5. Cumin seeds – 1/2 tbsp
  6. Ginger garlic – 1 tsp each
  7. Bay leaves – 2
  8. Cinnamon – 1 piece
  9. Black cardamom – 1
  10. Green cardamom – 2
  11. Cloves – 2
  12. Whole black peppers – 6 – 7
  13. Dry whole red chillies – 3
  14. Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  15. Salt – 1 tsp
  16. Tomato – 1 (sliced)
  17. Green chillies – 2 (sliced)

Mint Cucumber Raita

Method:

  • Soak rice and moong ki daal in water for 15 minutes.
  • Take a pan and heat up with oil. Then add onion and fry.
  • Add cumin seeds and ginger garlic.
  • Fry well.
  • Now add garam masala (bay leaves, cinnamon, black and green cardamom, cloves, whole black peppers and dry whole red chillies), and fry some more.
  • Then add turmeric powder and salt, along with the soaked rice and daal. Keep adding water according to your daal.
  • When the water dries, add tomato and green chillies.
  • Cover it for 15 – 20 minutes and let it cook on a low heat.
  • Serve moong ki daal ki khichdi with achar and raita, and enjoy.
