Murgh Musallam with Rice
Ingredients for Chicken Marination:
- Whole chicken – 1 or 1 ¼ kg
- Brown fried onion – 4 tbsp ground
- Orange food colour – 2 pinches
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Cumin powder – 1 tsp
- Green chilli paste – 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 ½ tbsp
- Garam masala powder – 1 tbsp
- Crushed black pepper – 1 tbsp
- Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
- Gram flour – 2 tbsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Tamarind pulp – 4 tbsp
- Vinegar – 4 tbsp
- Kewra water – few drops
- Salt – to taste
Method:
- Wash chicken, pat dry.
- Then give deep cuts and tie with the thread.
- Then nicely apply all above ingredients on the inside and outside of the chicken.
- Leave for an hour.
- Then bake in oven on 200 degree for 30 to 40 minutes or cook in steam for 15 minutes, then bake in oven for 10 minutes.
- When it’s done, serve with rice.
Ingredients for Rice:
- Rice – ½ kg
- Orange food colour – 1 pinch
- Boil eggs – 6
- Bay leaves – 3 to 4
- Big cardamoms – 3 to 4
- Cloves – 4 to 5
- Cinnamon sticks – 2
- Kewra water – few drops
- Ghee – ½ cup
- Brown fried onion – ½ cup
- Black cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
- Salt – to taste
Method:
- In a pan, put ghee and heat it up.
- Then add cardamoms, cinnamon sticks, cloves, bay leaves, cumin seeds, and fry for a second.
- Then add ginger garlic paste and fry well.
- Add water according to rice, cover and cook until evaporates.
- Then add rice and salt, mix and cook.
- When done, add food colour and kewra water, cover and cook on steam for 15 minutes.
- When rice and chicken done, put rice in a dish, then placed chicken in middle of rice, and garnish with boil egg slices and fried brown onion, and serve this yummy food to your family.
