Quick Dhaba Chana Dal: English – Urdu Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken – 1 1/2 kg cut in 14 pieces
  2. Lemons – 2
  3. Ground onions – 3
  4. Finely chopped green chillies – 4
  5. Finely chopped tomatoes – 6
  6. Finely chopped coriander – 1 bunch
  7. Oil or clarified butter – 1 cup
  8. Yogurt – 1/2 cup
  9. All spice powder – 1 tsp
  10. Crushed red chillies – 1 tbsp
  11. Whole coriander seeds – 1 tbsp
  12. Whole black pepper – 1 tbsp
  13. Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  14. Finely chopped ginger – 1 tbsp
  15. White cumin seeds – 1/2 tbsp
  16. Salt – to taste

Method:

  • Grind cumin seeds, whole coriander seeds and whole black pepper.
  • Take a wok, heat up oil or clarified butter and fry onions until light brown.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste, chicken and salt, fry until water dries.
  • Then add yogurt, crushed red chilli and all spice powder and let it cook.
  • Then add chopped tomatoes, grounded spices and 1 tbsp oil or clarified butter.
  • Lastly add finely chopped ginger, chopped coriander, chopped green chillies and juice of 2 lemons.
  • Serve with naans or chapattis.

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken – 1 ½ kg
  2. Oil or ghee – ½ kg
  3. Tomatoes – 1 kg
  4. Ginger – 50 g
  5. Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  6. Salt – to taste
  7. Ginger garlic water – 5 tbsp
  8. Green chillies – 4
  9. Cumin seeds – 1 tsp (fried and grounded)
  10. Dry coriander seeds – (fried and grounded)
  11. Crushed black pepper – 1 tsp
  12. Crushed red chillies – 1 tbsp

Method:

  • Take a pan and put oil, fry chicken in this oil until turns a reddish colour.
  • Take a wok and put chopped tomatoes with little bit of water and cook until tomato cooks well.
  • When tomatoes are done, put fried chicken along crushed red chilies, salt and ginger garlic water (take a bowl and put roughly chopped ginger garlic and water, and use this water) and fry well.
  • Now add green chillies, black pepper, ginger flakes, fried masala (cumin seeds and coriander seeds) and some oil (which we used to fry chicken) and fry well.
  • Then add lemon juice and cook in steam for 5 minutes on very low heat.
