Quick and Easy Dal fry
Chana dal fry, also known as Bengal gram is split chickpeas without seed coat. It is the most widely grown dal (lentil) in India and Pakistan. This easy dal fry recipe is very easy to make.
Ingredients:
- Boiled chana dal – 250gm
- Oil – 1/2 cup
- Onion – 1 chopped
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Whole dry red chili – 5
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Chopped tomato – 1
- Green chili – 3
- Chopped ginger – 1 tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Red chili powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
- Ginger flaks, green chili and fresh coriander – for garnishing
Method:
- Take a pan, add oil and fry onion until light golden, then add ginger garlic paste, whole red chilli and cumin seeds, and fry for 1 minute.
- Then add chopped tomato, green chilli, chopped ginger, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder and fry well.
- Now add boiled dal and cook on low heat about 7 to 8 minutes.
- When it’s done, garnish with green chilli, fresh coriander and ginger flaks.
- Serve with Nan or chapattis.
