Chilli Cheese Garlic Naan

Dhaba Daal Mash: English – Urdu Recipe

Ingredients for dough:

  1. Plain flour – 380 gm
  2. Salt – 3/4 tsp
  3. Instant yeast – 1 tsp
  4. Sugar – 2 tsp
  5. Baking powder – 3/4 tsp
  6. Yogurt – 1/3 cup
  7. Olive oil – 2 tbsp

Ingredients for Stuffing:

  1. Fresh coriander (chopped)
  2. Mozzarella cheese
  3. Green chillies (chopped)
  4. Chopped garlic
  5. Ghee or butter (for serving)

Method:

Step 1:

  • Add flour, yeast, sugar, salt, baking powder, yogurt and oil in a bowl and make smooth dough.
  • Cover and leave to rise in a warm area for a minimum of 1 hour. If you are covering with a plastic bag or cling film, lightly rub some oil on the top of the dough to prevent them from sticking.

Step 2:

  • Once the dough has risen, divide into equal balls. Place onto a lightly floured surface.
    Roll each ball and place the cheese filling in the centre of the dough. Pull the edges of the dough inward and form together to seal the cheese filling inside.

Step 3:

  • Rollout the dough again, along with green chilies, garlic and fresh coriander on top, heat up tawa or frying pan and apply water back side of the naan, this helps naan to stick on pan or tawa (do not use non-stick tawa). Slightly press.
  • Now flip the pan or tawa upside down and cook naan directly on flame till they turn golden brown. Brush with butter.
    Serve chilli cheese garlic naan hot with your favourite curry.
