  1. Prawns – 1 kg
  2. Tamarind – 2 tbsp
  3. Boiling water – ½ cup
  4. Salt – 1 tsp
  5. Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  6. Oil – 1 tbsp
  7. Onion – 1 chopped
  8. Green chilies – 3 chopped
  9. Red chili powder – 1 tsp
  10. Sugar – 1 tsp
  11. Onions – 2 sliced


  • Take a bowl; add tamarind pulp and boiling water. Mix and strain after 30 minutes.
  • In another bowl, add prawns, salt and turmeric. Heat oil, add chopped onion and sauté.
  • Then add chopped chilies, little bit of water and prawns, stir fry and add tamarind liquid, simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Then add sugar, sliced onions and cook for 3 minutes more and serve.
