During my childhood, my mom used to make Missi Roti in tandoor and served it with homemade butter, yogurt lassi and pudina chutney.
Normally, Missi roti is made with gram flour or besan and is cooked in tandoor or oven. But with this recipe, you can make it with the tawa at home. In this recipe, instead of Missi Roti, I will show you how to make Missi Paratha.

How to Make Mint Chutney in Urdu – English
Ingredients for Missi Paratha:
- Wheat flour- 2 cups
- Gram flour- 1 cup
- Green Chilli- 2 (finely chopped)
- Onion – 1/3 cup (finely chopped)
- Tomato – 1/3 cup (finely chopped)
- Crushed dry coriander seeds – 1/2 tbsp
- Crushed cumin seeds – 1/2 tbsp
- Red Chilli flakes – 1/2 tbsp
- Salt – 1/2 tsp or to taste
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Ghee – 2 tbsp
How to Make Podinay ke Parathay in Urdu – English
Preparation:
- Take a big mixing bowl. Add wheat flour, gram flour, salt, green chillies, onion, tomatoes, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, chilli flakes, turmeric powder and ghee.
- Mix everything really well and knead soft dough with the help of lukewarm water. Cover and keep the dough aside for 10 minutes to set.
- Divide the dough into smaller balls. Roll each one out. Pour some ghee over the tawa and place the rolled paratha over it.
- Cook from both sides, adding more ghee as needed.
- Serve hot with yogurt, pudina chutney, pickle or any kind of sabzi and chai.
