As the popular saying goes, “food first comes through the eyes,” the classic #sundaeicecream has a simple but appealing decor. The original sundae consists of vanilla ice cream topped with a flavoured sauce or syrup, whipped cream, and mix fruits. In addition to the sauce that is served as a sundae ice cream, other ingredients such as walnuts and chopped almonds.
Its name derives from Sunday, “Sunday” in English, because it is the day of rest where one allows oneself to enjoy the pleasures of life, including desserts.
Whipped Cream Recipe: Urdu β English
Ingredients:
– Sundae Ice Cream:
- Vanilla ice cream β as required
- Whipped cream β as required
- Fruit syrup β as required
- Strawberry sauce β as required
- Dry fruits brittle β as required
- Mixed fruits – as required (i used tinned fruit)
Strawberry Sauce
– Fruit syrup or sauce:
- Sugar β 2 tsp
- Corn flour β 1 tsp
- Fruit juice β 1/2 cup
– Brittle:
- Sugar
- Crushed dried nuts
Preparation:
Fruit Syrup or Sauce:
- Mix all three things and cook until thick sauce, remove from heat and chill.
Brittle:
- Gently heat the caster sugar in a small, non-stick frying pan, stirring until dissolved. Add the nuts.
- When the sugar becomes a deep caramel, pour onto the foil and leave until completely cold.
- Snap the brittle into pieces, then pulse in a food processor to coarse crumbs.
Assemble the Ice Cream Sundae:
- Take an ice cream glass or dish to layer the different components like so: Start with the strawberry sauce, mix fruit, then brittle, then ice cream, then fruit syrup or sauce.
