Walnut coffee cake with sour cream isn’t made with coffee as an ingredient, but you can still taste the coffee due to the combination of cinnamon and walnuts. Very easy and delicious recipe, excellent for evening tea.
Walnut Coffee Cake with Sour Cream
Ingredients:
- Butter – 125 gm
- Caster sugar – 3/4 cup
- Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
- Flour – 1 cup
- Walnut – 1 cup
- Egg – 1
- Baking powder – 1 tsp
- Caster sugar – 1 tbsp
- Cinnamon – 1 tsp
- Sour cream – 1/2 cup (mix 1/2 cup milk and 1 tbsp vinegar)
Method:
- Beat butter, sugar and essence, until light and fluffy.
- Then add egg and beat well.
- Then add sour cream, beat for 2 sec.
- Now add strained flour and baking powder and beat on low speed for 5 sec
- In another bowl, add walnuts, 1 tbsp sugar and cinnamon powder, mix well.
- Then put half cake mixture in 8×4 inches loaf tin, then half walnut, sugar and cinnamon mixture.
- Then put remaining half cake mixture and again add walnut, caster sugar and cinnamon mixture on top.
- Bake on 180 degrees C for 45 minutes and serve.
