Café Bombón! is a mixture of coffee (usually an espresso) sweetened with condensed milk. It is usually served in a transparent glass in order to show the layers of coffee and milk. The different density of the liquids causes the coffee to be on top, while the condensed milk stays to the bottom.

Bombón coffee originally from the Spanish region of Alicante. It is very easy to prepare, so we can do it at home to enjoy a coffee in a different way, either after lunch or in the middle of the afternoon.

Ingredients:

  1. Coffee
  2. Condensed milk
  3. Milk or cream (optional)

Method:

  • The first step to make the bombón coffee is to add the condensed milk to the bottom of the glass or cup that we are going to serve. You can put as much condensed milk as you want, trying to leave room for the coffee.
  • Now prepare the coffee, which should preferably be espresso or any kind of strong coffee.
  • When ready, gently add the coffee in the glass or cup over the condensed milk. The different density of both ingredients will prevent them from mixing and they will be visibly distinguished, leaving the coffee at the top.
  • Now we have ready a traditional coffee based on coffee and condensed milk but to decorate it and make it richer, we can add frothy milk or whipped cream on top.
