Chelsea Bread Recipe. Chelsea Buns are Britain’s answer to the North American cinnamon rolls. Made in a similar manner. . . but filled with butter, currants, chopped peel and mixed spice, (a mixture of sweet baking spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, coriander and allspice.)
Now roll down dough in rectangular shape and apply soft butter with brush, then sprinkle raisins, black currant, brown sugar, orange candid peel, cinnamon powder and roll tightly ( like Swiss roll), then cut 9 pieces.
Then put in 9 inch greased pan and cover and put in warm place to rise.
Then apply egg and bake in preheated oven on 300 degree centigrade for 20 to 25 minutes.
When little bit cool down, apply glaze and serve yummy Chelsea bread with tea or coffee.
Icing sugar – 3 tbsp
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
Yellow colour – few drops
