Soft Naan Khatai


  1. Flour – ½ kg
  2. Semolina – 4 tbsp
  3. Ground sugar – 200g
  4. Soft ghee – 250g
  5. Baking powder – 1 tsp
  6. Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
  7. Almond, pistachio – as required


First heat up ghee, then Let the ghee come to the room temperature (butter should be soft not melted). In a bowl, Add ghee and sugar in a mixing bowl and beat for two to three minutes until light and fluffy. Then add semolina, cardamom powder, and mix well. Then add flour and baking powder and mix until becomes in bread crumbs form. Now knead them together to make smooth dough. Divide the dough into equal parts and make them into balls. Press each ball between your palms lightly, and put few pieces of almonds, pistachios. Bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees, gas mark for about 15 to 20 minutes or until Nan khatai are lightly gold brown.
