Soft Naan Khatai

How to Make Naan Khatai


  1. Flour – ½ kg
  2. Semolina – 4 tbsp
  3. Ground sugar – 200g
  4. Soft ghee – 250g
  5. Baking powder – 1 tsp
  6. Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
  7. Almond, pistachio – as required


  • First heat up ghee, then Let the ghee come to the room temperature (butter should be soft not melted).
  • In a bowl, Add ghee and sugar in a mixing bowl and beat for two to three minutes until light and fluffy.
  • Then add semolina, cardamom powder, and mix well. Then add flour and baking powder and mix until becomes in bread crumbs form.
  • Now knead them together to make smooth dough. Divide the dough into equal parts and make them into balls.
  • Press each ball between your palms lightly, and put few pieces of almonds, pistachios.
  • Bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees, gas mark for about 15 to 20 minutes or until Nan khatai are lightly gold brown.
