Perfect and Easy khoya Recipe: English – Urdu
Ingredients:
- Rice – 1 cup
- Orange food color – ¼ tsp
- Dry orange peel – 2 pieces
- Cinnamon stick – 1
- Ghee – 1/4 cup
- Green cardamoms – 2
- Sugar – 3/4 cup
- Milk – 1/4 cup
- Rose water – 1 tbsp
- Candied fruit – ¼ cup
- Pistachio, almonds, walnuts and raisins – as required

Method:
- In a sauce pan add water, food color, orange peel and cinnamon stick. Bring to boil.
- Then add soaked rice and cook until tender. Then strain the rice from water.
- Take another pan; add ghee and fry the nuts. Take them out of the ghee.
- Now add green cardamoms, sugar, milk and rose water. Cook until the sugar dissolves.
- Add rice, half roasted nuts and candied fruit. Cover and cook on steam for 15 minutes.
- When ready, garnish with candied fruits and roasted nuts and serve.
