Method:

  1. In a large bowl, add the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Mix well and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Add the oil, all-purpose flour, and salt. Mix well and knead until a smooth, soft dough forms.
  3. Lightly grease the dough with a little oil. Cover and let it rest in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into smooth balls.
  5. Roll out each dough ball, sprinkle with fresh coriander and kalwanji seeds, then gently roll again into a naan shape.
  6. Apply a little water to one side of the naan. This will help the naan stick to the tawa.
  7. Heat a tawa or heavy frying pan well. Place the naan on the hot tawa with the watered side facing down. Gently press around the edges so it sticks properly.
  8. Once bubbles start appearing on the surface, carefully turn the tawa upside down over the flame. Cook until the naan is puffed and golden-brown spots appear.
  9. Turn the tawa back over and carefully remove the naan once it is cooked through.
  10. Brush the hot naan with melted butter and serve immediately with your favorite curry.
