Ingredients for chicken:
- Chicken – 1 kg
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Red chili powder – 1 tsp
- Dry coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Cumin powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Garam masala 1/2 tsp
- Yogurt – 1/2 cup
- Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
- Degi mirch – 1 tsp

Ingredients for gravy:
- Onion – 2 medium (paste)
- Tomatoes – 1 ( paste )
- Onion – 1 sliced
- Potatoes – 2 to 3
- Oil – 3/4 cup
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Cinnamon stick – 1
- Green cardamom – 4
- Cloves – 4
- Black pepper – 1 tsp
Ingredients for garnishing:
- Kasoori methi
- Green chillies
- Fresh coriander
Method:
- In a bowl, add chicken, salt, red chili powder, dry coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, yogurt, ginger garlic paste and degi mirch. Mix well.
- Heat oil in a large skillet or pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, green cardamom, cloves, black pepper and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Add marinated chicken and fry well. Add tomato and onion paste and fry well.
- Add potatoes, fry a bit. Add hot water.
- Cover the pan and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is tender and potatoes are cooked through. Add green chilies.
- Once the chicken and potatoes are cooked, sprinkle kasoori methi over the curry and mix well.
- Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice or bread of your choice.
