Chicken Shashlik with Gravy
I shared a few Chicken shashik recipes with you but this is a little bit different then usual. This recipe has chicken gravy, so you can serve with rice and enjoy as a full meal. Why not try on Iftar time? I bet you will love it.
Chicken Shashlik with Gravy
How to Make Homemade BBQ Sauce: English – Urdu Recipe
Ingredients for Shashlik:
- Boneless chicken – 1/2 kg cut in 1″ cubes
- Garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Red chili powder – 1 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce – 1 tbsp
- Mustard powder – 1 tsp
- Soya sauce – 1 tbsp
- Chili sauce – 1 tbsp
- Ketchup – 3 tbsp
Vegetables:
- Onion – 1 cut in cubes
- Green bell pepper – 1 cut in cubes
- Tomato – 2 cut in cubes (seedless)
Method:
- Apply all above ingredients on chicken cubes and set aside for an hour.
- Heat up 2 tbsp oil, saute 1 tsp chopped Garlic chopped until light golden, then add marinated chicken.
- Cover and let it simmer until tender.
- Then skew in skewers with vegetables.
- Then pour 1 tbsp oil in grilled pan, cook shashlik until vegetables are done.
- Pour 2 tbsp bbq sauce and serve with rice and gravy.
Ingredients for Gravy:
- Boneless chicken – 250 gm thinly sliced
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Garlic – 1 tsp minced
- Tomato ketchup – 2 tbsp
- Tomato puree – 2 tbsp
- Chili sauce – 1 tbsp
- Soya sauce – 1 tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce – 1 tbsp
- Mustard powder – 1/2 tsp
- Bell pepper – 1/2 chopped
Method for Gravy:
- Heat up oil in a wok and saute minced garlic until fragrant. Add chicken, remaining shashlik marination, tomato ketchup, tomato puree (2 blended tomato), chili sauce, soys sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, bell pepper thinly chopped and 1/4 of water.
- Cook for 5 minutes or until chicken is tender and gravy becomes a little bit thick.
- Pour on boiled rice, place shahslik sticks and serve.
