Chonga Keema Recipe
Chonga, a vegetable known for its rarity, is predominantly found in the hilly areas of the South Asian region. Keema Naan Recipe
Ingredients:
- Chonga – 300g
- Oil – 4 tbsp
- Onion – 1
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- Mince – 400g
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Red chili powder – 1 tsp
- Chili flakes – 1 tsp
- Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Degi mirch – 1 tsp
- Chopped tomatoes – 2
- Fenugreek seeds – 1 tsp
- Sliced onion – 1/2
- Green chilies – 2
- Fresh coriander

Method:
- Wash and dry chonga. Cut in small pieces and sprinkle with salt. Leave aside for 15 to 20 minutes.
Wash them properly, then squeeze the water and fry in 2 to 3 tbsp of oil, like karela, and set aside. - Heat up oil in a pan. Saute onion until it turns light golden brown. Add ginger garlic paste, fry for a few seconds.
- Add mince meat and fry for 1 minute.
- Add salt, turmeric, red chilli powder, red chilli flakes, coriander powder and cumin powder. Fry well
- Add degi mirch, chopped tomatoes and fenugreek leaves. Add some water and cook until the water dries and the mince is done.
- Add fried chonga, sliced onion and green chillies. Cover and cook on low flame for 2 minutes.
- Garnish with green chillies and serve with soft roti, chapatti, naan or paratha.
Ingredients for roti:
- Flour – 2 cups
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Sugar – 1/2 tsp
- Baking powder – 1/2 tsp
- Yeast – 1/4 tsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
Method:
- Add all above ingredients and make soft dough.
- Divide atta into 5 portions and cook on skillet like chapattis.
