Cottage Cheese Shashlik is vegetarian kebab. This dish of Indian cottage cheese is marinated in yogurt and spices, along with bell peppers, onions and tomato. It is flavoured with BBQ over flaming charcoal.
Cottage Cheese Shashlik
Ingredients:
- Cottage cheese – 250gm cut in 1” cubes
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- Red chili powder – 1 tsp
- Gram flour – 2 tbsp
- White cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
- Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
- Tikka masala – 1 tsp
- Yogurt – 2 tbsp
- Salt – ½ tsp or to taste
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Capsicum – 1 cut in cubes
- Onion – 1 cut in cubes
- Tomato – 1 cut in cubes
Method:
- Take a bowl, add ginger garlic, red chilli, gram flour, cumin seeds, garam masala, lemon juice, tikka masala, yogurt and salt, mix and apply on cottage cheese cubes and leave for 10 minutes.
- Then skew on skewers along with capsicum, onion and tomato.
- Cook on grill pan or BBQ until tender.
- When it’s done, serve with roasted potato and boiled rice.
