Good Way To Clean Silver Jewellery

silver-jewellery

This is a really easy and inexpensive way to clean all of your silver (jewellery, silverware or larger items).
You can do this in the sink for larger things, but smaller (like jewellery), just use a glass jar with a lid.
All you need are 3 things:
Aluminium foil
Water
Salt (table salt, rock salt and even baking soda as it’s a natural salt as well)

silver

for jewellery you can just use strips of aluminium foil and a tablespoon of salt, filling your jar half-full with water. This also works with cold water. The aluminium with the salt and water acts as a magnet for the tarnish on the silver. Just drop a few pieces of silver jewellery in the mixture for a few minutes and then take it out and wipe it off – if it’s not too badly tarnished, the tarnish will be gone. If your things are really badly tarnished, it still works but you may have to repeat it a couple of times. Easy! And everything you need is usually right in the house (keep the jar covered when you’re soaking your small pieces).

For bigger items, use the sink; put a sheet of foil on the bottom and a handful of salt. Run very hot water into the sink, and then submerge your items in it for 2-3 minutes. The tarnish should be gone.

It’s also a lot easier than rubbing and rubbing with the silver polish, and that polish usually has chemicals in it that aren’t good for you. Try it!

Multi-Grain Waffles

Multi-Grain Waffles

Traditional waffles are a butter-laden, high-carb indulgence, but they make the transition to good fats and smart carbs beautifully, yielding crisp, nutty-tasting waffles with all the sweet pleasure of the original. The batter can also be used for pancake.

OIL STAINS – Removal

OIL STAINS – Removal

Rub the clothes with some dettol antiseptic liquid, just before washing. It removes the stain with no trace.
To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca~Cola will help loosen grease stains.

Try pretreating each spot with a little Coke, rubbing it in, throw it in the washer, fill up with water, & if there’s any remaining Coke in the can pour that in with the water & wash as usual.
Try soaking it in Dawn Dishwashing Liquid. It contains a degreaser which should break down the stain.
Always uses Dawn dish soap to remove oil and grease stains. It also works on blood and just about anything else! Just use it as a spotter and launder the item or even throw it in the hamper and launder it later. I have tried it and it works great.

RECIPE: Pre-Wash Spray

  1. Household ammonia – 1/2 cup
  2. Baking soda – 1/4 cup
  3. White vinegar – 1/2 cup
  4. Water – 1/2 gal

Removing Yellow (Perspiration) Stains from Shirts:

“Try pouring plain white vinegar over the areas and leaving it for a few minutes. Then wash as usual. I have good results doing this with my clothes.
Also, Rit makes a color remover (works better than the whitener, IMHO) that might help.
TO REMOVE YELLOW STAINS FROM WHITE SHIRTS, BELIEVE IT OR NOT USE ‘TILEX MILDEW REMOVER’. IT REALLY WORKS!
JUST SPRAY IT ON AND LET IT SET FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND WASH WITH THE REST OF YOUR WHITES.
I have used a product called Yellow Stain Out that can be found at Walmart in the bathroom isle where the plumbing is.
You don’t have to use much, but soak the whites for a while and out comes any yellow that was there.

Smoke – Removing Smell from Clothing

To remove smoke odors from clothes, run a sink or tub of hot water, add vinegar, hang the garment in the bathroom and close the door.
The vinegar will absorb the odor.
