INGREDIENTS:

CHOICE #1

  • Rooh Afza Syrup – 2 tbsp
  • Water – 1 1/2 cups
  • Ice Cubes:- (OPTIONAL)

CHOICE #2

  • Rooh Afza Syrup – 2 tbsp
  • Whole Milk – 1 1/2 cups
  • Almond Sliver:- (TO GARNISH)
  • PISTACHIOS, Crushed:- (TO GARNISH)

CHOICE #3

  • Rooh Afza Syrup – 2 tbsp
  • Sparkling Water – 12 fl oz.
  • Ice Cubes:- (OPTIONAL)

 

INSTRUCTIONS:-

  • For each choice simply measure out Syrup in a cup and pour in your choice of Water, Milk, or Seltzer. Mix with spoon to fully combine.
  • Top Water or Seltzer version with Ice Cubes.

FOR MILK ROOH AFZA:- Garnish with crushed or Slivered Almonds  and Crushed Pistachios.

How to Make Sharbat Rooh Afza, English – Urdu Recipe

Sharbat Rooh Afza is a concentrated squash. Rooh afza sold commercially as a syrup to flavor sherbets, cold milk drinks, ices and cold desserts, such as the popular falooda. You can make homemade Sharbat Rooh Afza easily and enjoy your summer.

Sharbat Rooh Afza

Ingredients:

  1. Gond katira or Tragacanth gum – 2 tbsp or 1 ounce
  2. Water – 3 cups
  3. (Soak gond katira in 3 cups of water for overnight)
  4. Sugar – 1 kg
  5. Water – 1 litre
  6. Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
  7. Afza essence – 1 tsp
  8. Kewra essence – 1 tsp
  9. Red food colour – few drops

Method:

  • Take a pan, add sugar and 1 litre water and cook.
  • Clean water along cooking.
  • When syrup thickens a bit, add soaked gond katira along water and cook until thickens.
  • Strain, add red colour, kewra, Afza essence and cardamom powder, mix well.
  • Let it cool down.
  • Store in a clean bottle, out of refrigerator.
  • Enjoy whole summer with homemade sharbat (Drink) Rooh Afza.
