Steam Chicken Chargha: English – Urdu Recipe

Steam Chicken CharghaSteam Chicken Chargha

Ingredients:

  1. Whole chicken – 1 (make deep cuts)
  2. Garlic water – ¼ cup
  3. Salt – to taste
  4. Cumin powder – 3 tsp
  5. Chat masala – 1 ½ tsp
  6. Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  7. Vinegar – 2 tbsp
  8. Orange color – as you need
  9. Red chilli powder – 2 tbsp
  10. Yogurt – 125g
  11. Ground ginger – 1 tsp

Method:

  • Wash chicken, give deep cuts and apply vinegar, put in strainer and leave in fridge for 2 hours.
  • Then put all remaining spices in yogurt and mix well then apply on chicken and leave for half an hour in fridge.
  • Now wrap chicken in foil and steam for 1 and half an hour. Serve with raita.
  • If some water remaining in foil then put along with chicken in a pan and cook on high heat until water dries.

Raita:

  1. Mint – 1 bunch
  2. Green chilies – 6
  3. Black pepper – few
  4. Fried cumin seeds – 2 tsp
  5. Salt – to taste
  6. Yogurt – as you need

Grind all spices and mix in yogurt and serve with chicken.
