Turkish Bread Bazlama

Ingredients:

  1. Plain flour – 500 gm
  2. Warm milk – 3/4 cup
  3. Warm water – 2/3 cup
  4. Yeast – 1 1/2 tbsp
  5. Sugar – 1 tbsp
  6. Salt – 1 1/2 tsp
  7. Olive oil – 3 tbsp

For garnishing bazlama turkish bread

  1. Melted butter
  2. Chilli flakes
  3. Dry or fresh parsley

Method:

  • In a bowl, add milk, water, yeast and sugar. Mix well.
  • Add flour and salt, and make smooth dough.
  • Add olive oil and knead until dough absorbs the oil.
  • Then form the dough into a ball. Apply olive oil and cover with cling film and set aside in a warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  • When the dough has risen, divide into 6 and roll each piece into a ball. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  • Now roll the dough and cook in a preheated pan on medium-high heat.
  • When you flip each flatbread, it should rise up to make a pocket in the middle.
  • When the bread is done, apply melted butter. Sprinkle chilli flakes and parsley on top.
