Masalay Wali Mash Urad Ki Daal

Ingredients:

  1. Daal mash – (boiled) 250g
  2. Tomato – 2 (chopped)
  3. Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  4. Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  5. Onion – 1 chopped
  6. Ginger flaks – ¼ cup
  7. Ginger paste – 1 tsp
  8. Garlic paste – 1 tsp
  9. Green chilli – 4
  10. Dry fenugreek leaves – 2 tsp
  11. Black cumin seeds – 1 tsp (ground)
  12. White cumin seeds – 1 tsp (ground)
  13. Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
  14. Black pepper – 1 pinch
  15. Fresh mint – 1 tbsp chopped
  16. Fresh coriander – 2 tbsp chopped
  17. Salt – to taste
  18. Butter – 2 tbsp
Dhaba Daal Mash: English – Urdu Recipe

Method:

  • Take a pan, put oil and sauté onion.
  • Then put turmeric powder, tomato, green chillies, ginger flaks, red chilli powder and cook until the tomato softens, then put fenugreek leaves, black pepper, black and white cumin seeds, ginger garlic past and fry for 1 minute.
  • Then put garam masala powder, black pepper, mint and fresh chopped coriander, mix well, then add boiled daal (lentil) and fry for 2 minutes.
  • Then put salt and cook well.
  • When it’s done, put butter and mix well, put on dum for 5 minutes.
  • Serve with ginger flaks, fresh salad, mint and lemon slices.

Or maybe you’ll be first to compile a dictionary of Indian foods, herbs and spices. For example I have been dying to find the name of the white Dall(Mash or Urud).Thanks
