πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ Method

  1. Activate the yeast:
In a large bowl, mix warm water, sugar, yeast, and ΒΌ cup flour. Stir well and let it sit for about 10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy and bubbly.

  2. Prepare the dough:
Add the remaining flour, salt, baking soda, and olive oil to the activated yeast mixture. Mix and knead to form a soft, smooth dough.
(If needed, add a little more flour or water for the right consistency.)

  3. Let it rise:
Cover the dough with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and place it in a warm spot for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.

  4. Shape the naan:
Punch down the dough and divide it into 7–8 equal portions.
Roll each portion into a circle or oval shape (medium thickness).

  5. Add toppings:
Sprinkle coriander leaves and kalonji on top, pressing gently so they stick.
Brush a little water on the other side (the side that will touch the skillet).

  6. Cook on tawa (skillet):
Heat a tawa or cast-iron skillet on medium-high heat.
Place the watered side of the naan onto the tawa β€” it will stick.
Cook until bubbles form, then flip the tawa upside down over an open flame (or use tongs to roast the top directly) until it gets nice golden-brown spots.

  7. Finish with butter:
Once cooked, remove the naan and brush generously with butter.

  8. Serve hot!
Enjoy your soft, buttery naan with any curry or dal of your choice. πŸ˜‹
