How to make Soft Chapati
Phulka or chapati is almost the same. Phulka is a Hindi word, which means to puff. The roti gets puffed up when exposed to dry heat by being directly on the flame and puffs up.
Today I am sharing the phulka roti or chapati, using the wheat flour, which is called atta.
How to make Soft Chapati

Ingredients:
- Wheat flour/atta – 2 1/2 CUPS
- Salt – 3/4 tsp
- Oil or ghee – 1 tbsp
- Warm water – as required
Keto Roti
Method:
- In a bowl, add flour, salt and oil. Mix and make the soft dough with warm water.
- Knead the dough well and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into small to medium balls.
- Dust the rolling board with flour and flatten the ball and roll the dough ball into a flat round circle.
- Place the rolled dough on the hot skillet. In a few seconds, you will notice that small air pockets start to form. At this point, flip the roti on the skillet.
- After a few seconds, turn the flame to high; using tongs, take the phulka off the skillet and place it directly on the flame. It should puff up. This is known as the phulka.
- Keep it in a hot box or wrap it with a towel. Hot chapati or phulka is ready to serve.
