Spicy Masala Naan

Hari Chutney Recipe: English – Urdu

Ingredients:

  1. Warm water – 1/4 cup
  2. Instant yeast – 1 tbsp
  3. Sugar – 1/2 tsp
  4. Plain flour – 400 gm
  5. Salt – 1/2 tsp
  6. Chilli flakes – 1/2 tbsp
  7. Cumin seeds – 1/2 tbsp
  8. Green chillies – 3 to 4 chopped
  9. Chopped onion – 1/2 cup
  10. Olive oil – 2 tbsp
  11. Fresh coriander – 1/4 cup
  12. Warm milk – 1/2 cup

Method:

  • In a small bowl, mix yeast, sugar and warm water. Stir to dissolve then let it sit for a few minutes or until it is frothy on top.
  • In a separate bowl, add flour, salt, chilli flakes, cumin seeds, green chillies, onion, olive oil, fresh coriander, warm milk and yeast mixture.
  • Knead the soft dough with the help of warm water.
  • Cover the dough and let it rise until it doubles in size.
  • After it rises, divide the dough into 6 to 8 balls and roll out with hands.
  • You can cook naan on hot skillet over medium heat or bake in preheated oven or in grill until it turns golden brown.
  • Cover the cooked naan with a towel to keep warm as you cook the remaining pieces.
  • Brush with melted butter and serve with punjabi aloo samosa and podina ki chutney.
