White chicken karahi is a delicious and aromatic Pakistani dish made with chicken cooked in a rich, spicy gravy flavoured with black pepper (kali mirch), yogurt, cream and other traditional spices.

Ingredients for chicken:
- Chicken – 1/2 kg, cut into pieces
- Yogurt – lightly beaten 1 1/2 cup
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder – 1 tsp
- Black pepper – 1 tsp
- Dry coriander – 1 tsp
Add salt, cumin powder, black pepper and dry coriander in yogurt, mix and add it into the chicken and set aside.

- Oil – 2 tbsp + 1/2 cup
- Whole masala (2 bay leaves, 5 green cardamoms, 4 cloves, 2 black cardamoms)
- Onion – 1 small sliced
- Garlic cloves – 8
- Ginger – 1 inch piece
- Green chillies – 5 to 6
- Cashew nuts – 15 to 20 soaked
- Black pepper – 1 tsp
- Cream – 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander stems for garnish
Instructions for White Chicken Karahi Recipe:
- Heat up 2 tbsp oil in a karahi and stir fry whole masala, then sauté onion, ginger garlic, green chillies for 2 minutes.
- Add soaked cashew nuts and cook along with some water until everything softened. Discard the bay leaves and black cardamoms. Let it cool down completely rest.
- Add in grinder and make smooth paste.
- Heat up 1/2 cup oil and onion paste, fry well until oil separates.
- Add marinated chicken pieces to the karahi.
- Cover and cook the chicken on low heat until it is tender and cooked through. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Once the chicken is cooked, add crushed black peppercorns and cream, mix well.
- Garnish with fresh coriander stems and serve hot with naan or rice.
